Faithful Friday!

I love this verse.
It felt fitting for this week especially in celebrating what our Savior did for us, the ultimate sacrifice he made for all mankind!  There is, in my opinion, no more beautiful or moving way to think of what He did for us than to realize that He really did die to know us.... without the love He showed, we would not have the privilege of knowing God and all his graces, mercies, and love.
I am so thankful!
Hope you have a blessed weekend :)

Sweet Cottontails

Day before yesterday I received these sweet little crocheted cottontail bunnies from someone it has been a blessing to know, even if only through blogging... Tammy from Simple Southern Pleasures.  I enjoy reading her blog about family, life, and Southern life so much!!

I just want to say thank-you so very much for the beautiful little package you sent!!  It was such a joy to receive.  I love the bunnies!
I would have posted this earlier, but I am just getting a chance to take a photo of them in good light...
Aren't they lovely?  And such a beautiful, soft color.
These bunnies are now with our Springy d├ęcor, to be admired, but will make such sweet keepsakes even when Spring has passed.

Thankyou so much Tammy!
Blessings to you♥

And I wish you a blessed and wonderful day if you're reading this!

Spring Daybook

My Daybook thoughts for today...
Outside my window...
It is the best kind of Spring day:  trees blowing in a strong, cool breeze and everything warmed by the shining sun.  With our back door open and just the screen door pulled close, the sounds of the afternoon are so pleasant.
I am thinking...
about baking!  I just got the chance to watch the new Pioneer Woman that was recorded and now I have lemon and blueberry cupcakes on my mind♥
I am thankful...
for the coziness of home: just being together at home having a relaxing day, feeling so comfy under a blanket as I type, with the cool air blowing through the screen door and my dog sleeping beside me.  I am so grateful to the Lord for that.
I am wearing...
a light sweater and just cozy Sunday clothes :)  Aside from going to church, I love to be comfortable on Sundays when we are around the house.
I am reading...
Numbers right now, and trying to catch up on my reading!
I am creating...
some watercolors for fun :)
I am wondering...
how March is already almost over!?  Is it just me, or does it feel like it just started?
I am looking forward to...
our plans of going to the river sometime next weekend.
I am praying...
for guidance and the attitude to always listen to it.
One of my favorite things...
how clean and bright and fresh your home feels just because it's Spring.
A favorite quote for today...
"The nicest place to be is in someone's thoughts.
The safest place to be is in someone's prayers.
And the best place to be is in God's hands."
A peek into my day...
Our rose bush that just started blooming out back.
Have a wonderful day and a great start to the new week!
Blessings to you!

Faithful Friday!

This reminds me that nothing in this world is for sure.  Everything changes... life, circumstances, people, ourselves, our hearts and minds... even weather is something we can never be sure of.

But God never changes.  He is always there, always has been, always will be.  Have faith that even if everything in your life fell apart, God will always be there to put it back together and to be your strength through the storms.

Happy Friday!

Blessings to you♥

Week in Photos: Spring Break

What a beautiful day it is today!
And what a blessed week this has been.  I am so thankful for all the time I have gotten to spend with my family and the time I spent getting to read, do devotions, work on crafts, and simply enjoying each day of this Spring Break week!
I often enjoy taking pictures for fun randomly, and looking back, I noticed I took a pretty good number of them this week during different parts of the week.  I thought I would share them as my week in photographs :)
All last weekend and during the beginning of this week, my Grandma came to stay with us for a few days.  I love spending time with grandparents and she always has such fun stories from her days growing up in the South.  On her last full day in town, we took her to a restaurant on the river and got a little dressed up.  I borrowed this necklace from my Momma and thought it was so pretty ♥
The only unfortunate part of the break has been that our oven has been broken.  I have missed baking so much, but since we can't bake anything we picked up a cake at the grocery store.  And we figured, why not go big?  We got a cake sort of different from any we have had before- it was six layers tall.  And delicious.
For a period during the week, I was pet-sitting for a neighbor.  I really enjoy the opportunity to do this, just being around sweet little dogs.  On one of the mornings, I woke up early to go take care of them and then took them out for a walk... it was a different experience because I'm used to walking one dog, but it was fun.
Later that day, I had the privilege of going out to eat a wonderful lunch with my parents.  We did a little shopping beforehand as well.  Before we left, though, I had some time after I got dressed so I painted my nails this Springy, bright pink :)

Spending some time gardening.  I love walking around to the back gate of our house... the grass is greener and I love the way the sun shines on it, and there are azalea bushes growing there.  Plus, the water hose is there, which reminds me of summers outside gardening, and just cooling off.
Relaxing with my new favorite candle that night.  It's called 'Bermuda Beach' and it was a gift from my Daddy this winter... he gave it to me then, but I saved it for Spring and oh my goodness does it smell wonderful!  The scent is sort of a mix between tropical flowers and grapefruit.

Later in the week, I pulled out this yarn to work with it a little bit and start something.  I haven't been doing it long, but crocheting has been so relaxing and fun.  Last night  I really enjoyed crocheting while I listened to an audiobible :)
I think the colors in this yarn are so beautiful!... it goes from a fuchsia hue, to red, to fiery orange, to a melon.
I hope you have had a wonderful week!!
Blessings to you!

Happy Thursday!

I hope your day has been wonderful!  It has not been a bad day here- amazing Springy weather, doing some crafts, and going for a walk :)

I have also been on Pinterest some today... I am enjoying it so much!!  Everyone who tells you you'll get addicted if you join is more than right!  I have recently joined and am loving it so much... more than anything, for the inspiration it provides in so many areas.

Here are just a few pins in a few categories I have found so much inspiration in... in ways that have strengthened my passions, interests, and my heart for the Lord.

In a matter of days, I have found and happened upon more amazing photography and ideas for photography than ever before.

Beautiful Femininity & Modesty
I cannot express just how encouraged I have been in my convictions in modesty and dressing in a pretty, presentable way- by both modern and vintage inspirations.

He Knows Better: Photography
Grace at His Daughter
Everywhere I look, there seems to be an up-building and beautiful sentiment of faith... something that makes me consider God's grace differently than I have before, or something that simply makes my heart happy or appreciative.

And just some neat things... this is one that struck me as truly unique and beautiful...
What are you being inspired by??  Do you love Pinterest?

Thankyou for reading.
Be blessed!

Faithful Friday!

I was thirteen years old when I first saw this... it was a chilly winter day and I was sitting in a funeral home at my Grandma's funeral.  There were cards that were handed out to everyone who came to pay their respects... they had my Grandma's photo and a little about her life, her faith, and us, her family.  I was reading through it with the heaviest kind of heart, and then I flipped it over and this was on the back.

After I read it, as you can imagine I kind of lost it right there... I looked at it for awhile and I felt so much.  I felt comforted and I felt the love of my Grandma and the love of the Lord, and ever since that day that moment has stuck with me as has the story... that card is now tucked away, both in my heart and in my room at home, but I joined Pinterest this week and was so delighted to find it there!

If you are dealing with death or anything in life that brings you down, remember that you aren't alone.
God never leaves you no matter how alone you may feel... if you have no one else, you still have His love.  He will always be beside you and when you think he has left, He hasn't.  He is carrying you.

Happy Friday!!
Blessings from my heart to yours :)

Sometimes something is put on your heart or mind that you suddenly begin to think about more than you ever have... or consider or appreciate more than you ever have.

Lately for me, that thing is femininity.

It has always been something I have appreciated, but more now as I get older.  And I don't mean feminism at all- I'm not a feminist.
I just love the gift of femininity and am so thankful for God's arrangement and the fact that ladies are meant to be feminine and lovely and men are meant to be gentlemanly.  That reminds me of this that I found this week...
I believe this is true.
It is such a privilege to be a girl, because you have the choice to be a lady...  to maybe make boys and men more inclined to be gentlemen.  The world needs more ladies... more Audrey Hepburns... and more gentlemen... more Jimmy Stewarts.
Being feminine and embracing every opportunity to show that is a big thing where I was brought up, maybe because it comes from one thing that is an even bigger deal: manners.
Like manners and kindness, it is something engrained in you, growing up with stories and examples from the ladies that made up your upbringing.
I can still remember going to see my Grandma during the holidays as a little girl.  We would look through family albums together and her example of femininity and lady-likeness was so obvious from all those old photos of her as a little girl, to her teens, to her wedding, and later on.

Femininity is a gift.  I have grown up as my Daddy's only daughter, only child for that matter, so I enjoy sports, too.  I like to play baseball and tennis and watch baseball in the summer, and I know other girls who do the same kinds of sporty things or they hunt for fun... but you can definitely still be polished and feminine at the same time.
If there is one thing I have learned from the women I have been surrounded by, femininity and being a lady is of high value more on the inside...
I love all the parts of being feminine on the outside- wearing pearls, curling your hair, having nice nails, wearing pretty and vintage dresses to church and weddings, and getting dressed up sometimes, but so much more important than that is having grace, a beautiful heart, modesty, a sincere and kind smile, and a giving spirit.

And there are also those wonderful aspects of femininity that come naturally to many... like the excited feeling of finding a new cake recipe!  Or buying (or sewing) a new dress.  Or presenting your family with a fresh pie.

One of the things I am grateful for as far as the gift of femininity is what that means when it comes to how we were created...
With the intended desire to have all those attributes like grace, and to always be hospitable and kind, welcoming, caring, and loving!

...For fun, I found a few (or more ;)) words and things (courtesy Pinterest) that I appreciated and thought had a lot to do with lady-like femininity in what they say or portray, and thought I would add them to this post...

Have a blessed Sunday!
